Jack of All Trades, Master of Many

In music and just about any artistic endeavor there is, rules are relatively immaterial because most often than not, they are just meant to be broken as they stifle creativity and progress. That’s why the saying that goes, “Jack of all trades, master of none” is not applicable when it comes to the creation of music because when you’re a master multitasker and a hardworker, the possibilities are endless as you can be great at several sets of skills.

No one embodies this description better than the Seattle-based multi-genre electronic dance music producer Graz. If that’s a mouthful, try label head, graphic artist, vinyl DJ and hardware chiptuner among others on his long list of talents and skills. And no, he just doesn’t dabble in these things; he masters every single one of them until it becomes automatic—like breathing.

The result: A perplexing, technology-driven works of art that fascinate the ears and stimulate the mind. I’ve reviewed one of Graz’s albums previously in the site and it was a thing to behold from start to finish. Entitled ‘Ravepunk’, the 8-track modern day masterpiece was produced and programmed using nothing but a Gameboy. Success happens when hardwork and talent meet. Graz is successful not only because he’s gifted but he’s also put in the work. The sky’s the limit for him because he is a tireless student of the art. He doesn’t stop learning and does so in his own relentless pace.

Expect something special everytime Graz puts out a new material. In the meantime, listen to this masterpiece below and let your imagination come alive!

  1. Great review although I am pretty biased, he is my son in law! But nevertheless he is pretty great at his chosen art contribution.
